Hardware Product Manager, Manufacturing (Shenzhen)

About Legend

Legend makes an AI memory pendant that helps people with ADHD remember conversations, tasks, and ideas. Our first two production batches sold out, and we're scaling up for the next one.

The role

You'll be our person on the ground with our manufacturing partner and our component suppliers. You'll keep every batch on schedule and to spec, so our founders can stay focused on customers and the product.

What you'll do

• Manage our relationships with our manufacturing partner and our suppliers day to day, in Mandarin and English.
• Own production timelines from parts ordering through assembly, testing, and shipping.
• Run quality control on every batch: inspection plans, defect tracking, and making sure root causes get fixed.
• Visit the factory several times a week and report clearly to the US team.
• Spot supply, cost, and schedule risks early, and work out solutions with the factory.
• Help us scale to larger runs (1,000+ units) while bringing per-unit cost down.

What you bring

• A degree or background in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Experience managing a consumer hardware product through mass production.
• Full fluency in Mandarin and English, both spoken and written.
• Comfort with DFM (design for manufacturing), BOMs (bills of materials), and factory QC processes.
• You live in or near Shenzhen and can be at the factory regularly.
• You're organized and proactive, and you're comfortable owning outcomes at an early-stage startup.

Nice to have

• Experience with wearables, Bluetooth devices, or battery-powered products.
• Existing relationships in the Shenzhen supply chain.
